The expected impact is a brief period of latency and potential packet loss while the devices failover.

Purpose: Replace failed hardware on database cluster member.

Customer Impact: A member of one of the database clusters experienced a hardware failure early this morning. Replacement hardware has been dispatched. ImageSilo engineers will be replacing the hardware upon arrival. Due to the highly redundant nature of the ImageSilo, no customer impact is expected.

ImageSilo Emergency Maintenance Notification – Jan. 20, 2014

Purpose: Diagnose and repair failed storage components.

Customer Impact: ImagSilo engineers are responding to a failure of part of the storage subsystem. No customers have been impacted due to the redundant nature of the architecture. Vendor engineers have been engaged and ImageSilo engineers will continue to work the issue until full redundancy is restored. Repairs may require manual failovers that could introduce multiple periods of higher than normal latency as well as short (2-4 minute) periods of unavailability. An update will be posted when the issue has been resolved or if further impact is expected.

Customer Impact: An ImageSilo storage system related to the database clusters failed. Due to the highly redundant nature of the architecture, no customer impact has occurred. Vendor engineers have been engaged. Once the replacement equipment is onsite, ImageSilo engineers will be replacing the failed hardware and bringing the systems back online. Although no customer impact is expected, there is always a chance of impact (hence, the emergency maintenance notification).

Purpose: Investigate DNS Issues

Customer Impact: ImageSilo Engineers are investigating DNS issues that may keep clients in some locations from being able to resolve login.imagesilo.com and access the site. Our global DNS provider (UltraDNS) appears to be under a DDOS (distributed denial of service) attack at this time. This in no way jeopardizes the security of your information. It is only making access for some customers difficult. We will issue an update when more information is available.

Customer Impact: At approximately 15:22 MST, ImageSilo engineers identified a failure in one of the redundant components of ImageSilo’s storage infrastructure. ImageSilo engineers have engaged the vendor and will work the issue to resolution. Due to the redundant nature of ImageSilo’s architecture, there has been no customer impact. As in all cases when working on equipment (even redundant equipment) there is always a small chance of impact. ImageSilo engineers expect a period of longer than usual file access lasting approximately 30 seconds to two minutes during the repair of the failed component.

As in all cases when working on equipment (even redundant equipment) there is always a small chance of impact. However, there is no expected impact.
